Great diving at Puerto Aventuras
My family and I took a vacation to Puerto Aventuras. We had never vacationed here before, but we were recommended here by a frequent visitor and condo owner. We flew into Cancun, and we rented a car for the week. The renting process was arranged before arrival through Expedia.com, and once we arrived we had no trouble receiving our car and navigating to Puerto Aventuras. (From Cancun to our destination it was approximately an hour and fifteen minutes). Puerto Aventuras has everything you would need, all within a walking distance. There are many great restaurants and shops, and not to mention the diving there is exception (We dove with Dive Aventuras which is location within the Omni Hotel. The staff was great and very informative!) We stayed at the Del Mar II, tons of space, full kitchen, amazing views to the ocean. All together it was a  perfect set up! Since we had a rental car, we decided to branch out and visit some of the nearby towns that had been recommended to us. We spent most of a day in the following towns: Playa Del Carmen, Akumal, and Tulum. We enjoyed Akumal so much we went back twice. There were awesome little spots to eat that was fun for the whole family (La Buena Vida was one of our favorites. It was located right on the water, and you could even eat/drink at the top of a coconut tree!) Puerta Aventuras was gated and secure, and even when we ventured out to the other nearby cities, we never felt threaten. On the main highway, local police were visual and patrolling. Safety was never an issue! We cannot wait to go back to Puerta Aventuras!!!
